Villa World launches Arundel Springs

June 1, 2017 | IN Media Release and News | BY Holly Brennan | 5 min read

NATIONAL residential developer Villa World is making a bold return home with the launch of a stunning $300 million residential project on one of the last remaining land parcels on the Central Gold Coast.

The publicly-listed Villa World is poised to launch its flagship Arundel Springs community this weekend with the first land release of a project that will eventually comprise almost 400 new homesites.

The 386-dwelling project is the largest residential development undertaken by Villa World on the Gold Coast in more than a decade and capitalises on the growing demand for homesites in the city’s established population nodes.

Arundel Springs will take advantage of its location adjacent to the spectacular Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area, a new light rail station, close proximity to the M1 and only minutes to the city’s major employment and education nodes of Griffith University Hospital and Griffith University.

The project creates a firm foothold in the Gold Coast market for Villa World after a strategic expansion of its development activity in South East Queensland in recent years.

Villa World has now established itself as a leading east coast residential developer, driven in part by more than $180 million in site acquisitions nationally this financial year.

Villa World CEO and managing director Craig Treasure said Arundel Springs is a significant investment in the current Gold Coast property cycle and is being launched into a market experiencing strong demand.

“Arundel Springs underscores the investment Villa World has made in the Queensland residential market in recent years,” Mr Treasure said.

“It’s probably the right project at the right time for the Gold Coast, particularly with the level of infrastructure spending currently under way for the Commonwealth Games, including the light rail.

“But we’ve also taken it a step further with the regeneration of the wetlands in a way that defines all new Villa World projects by creating an active new living environment for Arundel Springs residents and the wider community.”

The regeneration of the Arundel reach of the Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area, in collaboration with the City of Gold Coast, will realise the potential of the long-neglected area for increased public access while providing a stunning natural backdrop to the masterplanned development.

Arundel Springs will embrace the restored stretch of wetland with several open spaces, street sculptures and viewing decks, while incorporating connecting walkways and bike tracks into the community’s design.

“Arundel Springs is a project for the entire local community to enjoy as these neglected wetlands are restored as a beautiful nature reserve,” Mr Treasure said.

“The restoration delivers spectacular natural surrounds to one of Villa World’s finest residential offerings while also providing a lasting legacy for the local environment and the wider community.”

Located just 800m from a new light rail station, Arundel Springs will provide a clear choice of dwelling styles, with 306 residential lots and 80 town homes forming the community. Land buyers at Arundel Springs are also able to appoint their own house builder.

Buyers have responded enthusiastically to the offering with strong pre-sales achieved in recent months. The first release has been well accepted with more than 50 per cent of sales totaling $8.2 million already secured.

Villa World has also received more than 150 registrations of interest for the second stage, prompting the company to fast-track delivery of the land offering.

The project’s sales display suite will open to the public with a family fun day on June 10 at Arundel Springs in Greenacre Drive and the first home sites will be available to build on in November.

Parcels range in size from 300sqm to 811sqm and are priced from $315,000.

Mr Treasure said Villa World was focused on engaging local buyers, particularly those employed in the nearby Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct at Parklands.

“We see Arundel Springs as an ideal and natural lifestyle choice for people who work in the precinct, given its proximity and the ease of access for residents via the nearby light rail station,” he said.

Mr Treasure said Villa World would donate $2500 to the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation for each sale made to a Gold Coast University Hospital employee.

Located in the central Gold Coast, Arundel Springs is close to public and private primary and secondary schools, shops, and is within walking distance of a new light rail stop connecting with Helensvale Railway Station, Griffith University, Gold Coast University Hospital, Southport, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.

Villa World created the Arundel Springs masterplan after acquiring the 25ha infill site from the O’Brien family last year.

The parcel has been locked away from public view for decades under private ownership as one of the Gold Coast’s last working dairy farms.

The Arundel Springs sales display suite will be open daily from 10am to 5pm on Greenacre Drive, Arundel from June 10.

Villa World is an ASX-listed company and over the past three decades has grown to become one of Australia’s leading east coast housing developers. Today, more than 40,000 Australians call a Villa World address home.
