Prominent publicly listed development Group Villa World has recently launched its 29-home display village at Killara in Logan, with the “smart home” by REA Taylah’d Homes proving a huge hit with buyers.
More than 2,000 people have turned out to visit the launch of Villa World’s display village – and the new smart home was a major head turner.
The smart home, which features energy management systems and the ability to control entry locks, security and CCTV footage remotely, drew in crowds and added to the great atmosphere of the display village launch.
Guests saw the home designs of 20 of Queensland’s leading builders, giving potential buyers the opportunity to see the range of different homes on offer at Killara.
Villa World’s development director Queensland Peter Johnson said the event was a huge success with an overwhelming turnout.
“Potential buyers were given the opportunity to see first-hand the range of different designs, layouts and discuss the range of possibilities on offer at Killara.
“All the homes looked fantastic with each of the builders putting on entertainment for their guests, so the community had a great time joining in on the street party.
Michael Mrowka of REA Taylah’d Homes who have developed the smart home said he had received several expressions of interest on the open day and settled a home.
“We’ve designed and built the home of tomorrow where everything including lighting, energy consumption, entry locks, security and CCTV footage can be controlled remotely from anywhere in the world through an app on your phone, Mr Mrowka said.
“The homes incorporate an energy management system which monitor energy consumption, so once the solar energy starts running low due to cloud cover or bad weather, residents can reduce their consumption or turn things off to save electricity,” he said.
“We are seeing a generation of home buyers who expect this type of technology in their everyday lives, and it’s an expectation REA Taylah’d Homes has been able to meet, which has bought in a lot of interest.
“Buyers were receptive to the five different smart homes we offer and our ability to design them according to individual needs.
“Several lot buyers approached us on the day and are looking into the next stage of home design,” he said.
REA Taylah’d smart homes start at $249,000, and include a wall system that controls home temperature and provides natural light to the home.
The Killara Display Home Adventure day hosted family activities and entertainment including a rock climbing wall, giant maze and wildlife ranger, jumping castle, balloon artist and face painter.
Located on Chambers Flat Road in Logan Reserve, Killara is just a short drive to major shopping, primary and secondary schools and Griffith University’s Logan campus.
Killara’s sales centre is open between 10am and 5pm daily.
